My name is Karen Callahan and I began The Female Fan several years ago. Friends knew I was a crafty person, and would ask me to make shirts and accessories for them to wear to sporting events. (Many items are geared towards men, which is very frustrating when you are trying to be fashion conscious!) Soon I found I was getting requests from friends of friends, and knew I had something going on here!

I became self employed in August 2008 and opened a store, Ideas That Bloom, in Crestwood Plaza. After about a year, I chose to return to the workforce but continued with my business as well. I am constantly working on new designs to keep products fresh and unusual, while continuing to make the fan favorites. Making custom items for customers usually results in new products I never thought to make before, so I really enjoy special requests!

My items can be purchased on my website, or in several local shops where I consign. I am really excited to be a part of Fusion at Chesterfield Mall and hope to double my product line in 2010.
