Winnie Bahr has been making jewelry since the mid 90’s. Over the years she has worked in many mediums including stringing, peyote, and PMC until finally finding her niche in the world of wire and metal. Over the past 3 years she’s been concentrating on her metal techniques through reading, experimenting and taking courses in all forms of metal work. She has studied with wire artists such as Betty Baxter and Jessie Donnan. She continues to learn more about the world of metal and all it has to offer by taking classes every summer at William Holland School of Lapidary Arts.

Winnie’s work has been referred to by many as elegant and timeless. She strives to create pieces of jewelry that will not only hold up in their workmanship but also be pieces that will transcend the trends. She uses only the finest materials available and hand picks all of her stones for the best brilliance and cut.

She looks at her wire work as a frame to the stones, natures’ artwork. She keeps her stones in plain site to help inspire her on her next creation. Due to both the uniqueness of the stones she picks and the fact that wire has a mind of its’ own, most of her jewelry are truly one of a kind pieces.
